MagicScribe ("we", "us", or "our") is a voice-powered productivity platform operated from the United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use magicscribe.tech, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to this policy. If you are using MagicScribe on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organisation to this policy.
When you register, we collect your name and email address. We store a cryptographic hash of your password — your plain-text password is never stored or logged.
This means we do not hold audio files of your voice. Once a recording is transcribed, the audio is discarded.
Documents you create in MagicScribe Docs, forms you build, and submissions made to your forms are stored in our database associated with your account.
We collect limited usage information including the number of dictation sessions and API calls you make. This is used solely for enforcing plan limits and improving the service — it is not sold or shared with advertisers.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or full billing details. Stripe provides us with a tokenised reference and your billing plan status.
We use a server-side session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
MagicScribe uses the following third parties to deliver core functionality. Each operates under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
Voice audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for speech-to-text transcription. OpenAI's Privacy Policy and API Usage Policies govern their handling of submitted audio.
Text content may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-assisted document editing, form filling intelligence, and content refinement. Anthropic's Privacy Policy governs their handling of submitted text.
Subscription billing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Stripe's Privacy Policy covers all payment data.
We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (such as billing records, which are kept for 7 years under UK law).
Voice audio files are never retained — they are processed and discarded immediately. Transcripts (text) are retained as part of your documents until you delete them.
